Flex Optim™ technology starts from your patients’ vision profile and tailors the design to each individual’s prescription, adjusting the lens progression profile to each patient.

A design that adjusts to your patient’s vision profile 

 

Through an analysis of the needs and preferences of 1225 Varilux® lens wearers, we have created 15 distinct vision profiles. Essilor's design calculator automatically identifies the optimal vision profile based on the correction and addition you order for your patient, all without requiring any additional measurements.

 

 

 

Adjusted lens progression profile to each patient

 

Flex Optim™ technology goes beyond simply considering the vision profile of the patient. It calculates each patient’s lens progression profile, ensuring it's optimized to their unique prescription, for smooth focusing from near to far distances.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The optical result: A unique useful vision zone stretching your customer’s field of vision

Every patient will have a unique useful vision zone maximizing the range of gaze directions. The useful vision zone refers to the range of gaze directions enabling patients to see clearly at a specific distance. It's essentially the area where patients see sharply when looking through the lens. Thanks to Flex Optim™ technology, this zone is unique to each patient, maximizing the range of gaze directions.

Varilux® Comfort Max lenses offer wearers increased postural flexibility, allowing them to see sharply​ in up to 227 additional postures compared to Varilux® Comfort 3.01.
